Garbage day, again!
It's 42 degrees and dry at 5:00 a.m.
The YNN Weather Forecast:
"High Clouds Around, Warm into the Weekend.
High clouds will increase on today with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Those clouds will thicken tonight and Friday. Right now it appears it'll stay mainly dry with the best chance for rain staying well off to our south or east.
Right now the weekend weather looks great with a mixture of sun and clouds and highs in the 60s."

Now for some pictures!
When Jody Hildreth was in the Grand Tetons he was surrounded by color!
Stately golden Aspens .........
............... and brilliant Maples.
Here, however, most of the maple trees that had begun to turn all those rich shades of yellow and orange and bright red that we love have either lost many of their leaves or are just turning a dull, dusty color - too soon.
The brightest leaves that I found, yesterday, were on this woodbine growing on an old milk house at the Huggins Farm in "Sheepskin Hollow" ....
... where I stopped to have a very nice roadside chat with Colleen Huggins and her daughter, Michelle, who is visiting from her home in Idaho. It was Colleen who pointed out to me this beautiful antique tractor - worthy of a special photograph all its own.
If we're lacking natural color in our trees, it's being made up for with Autumn decorations like these on Elmwood Avenue .....
.............. and here, on Sanger Hill Road .........
............ and on Tower Street.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH
Just out of curiosity, I asked Glen Carroll whether the beers served at Oktoberfest in Munich were warm - room temperature - or ice cold. Most people I know really hate warm beer although I prefer it "pantry temperature!" Here's what he wrote:
The beers "were not US cold and they were not room temp - they were cool.
"In
the US they got into serving beer at such a cold temp so that the beer
shocks your taste buds and then you can't really taste how cruddy (my word, not his!) the
beer is.
"That's why folks 'hate warm beer.'
"When
you drink a great beer at a more normal 'room' temp you taste all the
subtle flavors. Room temp means like 60 degrees, or the temperature of an old Victorian Bar hall."
(That explains it!)
(Thanks again, Glen!)
