Yesterday was HOT!
This was the temperature in New Hartford at about three o'clock in the afternoon .........
................ and this announcement appeared on WKTV:
But this morning, after a series of late-afternoon and evening thunderstorms,
it's a refreshing 67 degrees at 6:00 a.m.
The Weather Forecast from YNN:
"Still Humid Thursday, Much Cooler Friday
An approaching cold front will touch off more showers and storms on our Thursday. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds on the order of 30 to 40 mph. There is a very slight chance that some storms could be severe, but the overall threat is significantly less than Wednesday. It will be another humid day as highs reach the middle and upper 70s.
A reinforcing push of cooler air will arrive Thursday night into Friday with scattered lake enhanced showers developing. Highs on Friday will only be in the upper 50s to near 60.
High pressure will build overhead for the weekend with plenty of sun for both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be on the cool side with highs in the low 60s, while most spots will get back up near 70 on Sunday."

The first Pumpkin decorations have appeared - these on West Bacon Street.
Matt Jerczak, who lives at 188 Sanger Avenue and is certainly the community's undisputed "Jack o' Lantern King," is already planning this year's display. Last year his front yard glowed with 300 carved pumpkins. Will he be able to top that? I saw him, yesterday, and - with a happy smile - he said that he's "working on it!"

This old building next to Elmwood Avenue is being dismantled. Not that it is sightly, in any way, but I think it must be the last of the original Utica, Chenango & Susquehanna Railway freight yard structures, constructed in the late 1860's .......
........... but mostly hidden in this 1908 view.
