The Weather Forecast from WKTV: "A big change in the weather today - cooler and much less humid compared to the past several days. Cooler air behind yesterday's front will keep high temperatures only in the upper 60s this afternoon. A mix of sunshine and clouds along with lake effect rain showers and sprinkles. Breezy.
Partly cloudy tonight with lows in the low 50s. Lots of sunshine tomorrow as high pressure returns to the area. Another push of cooler weather expected on Thursday. Thursday night looks to be a chilly night, with lows possibly dropping into the 30s in the cold spots.
Pleasant weather wraps up the week."

More Changes on Main Street
I inadvertently left this out of yesterday's series of changes:
what used to be the Village Diner, on the corner of East Main Street and Buell Avenue, is now a very popular Chinese Restaurant!
Something is going on in the former Scerbo building, but the only description that I have heard includes the word "lounge."
(I presume that is the noun, "lounge"? Perhaps someone can let me know.)
Now appearing on front lawns throughout the community.
Primary Election is September 10.

IN THE MAIL
This photograph, with a note from Connie Bocko in which she wrote: "People are starting to notice all the activity at the former Grace Church. She is undergoing some cosmetic changes to accommodate her newest family. I'm not talking: folks will have to join us Sept. 13th at 7:30 to see what all this activity has brought about."
Thank you, Connie!

And, among many notes welcoming back the blog, this note from Hank Gardener which I especially wanted the Music Department at WCS to read!
"the BLOG of Sept 1 is great. So many beautiful pictures
and the band in D.C. on the Fourth was spectacular."

Miscellaneous
Japanese Knotweed is blooming.
These aren't the best hops I've ever grown, but the vine certainly is the tallest!
Fields and roadsides are filled with Goldenrod, Joe Pye weed, white Boneset and sprinklings of purple Aster and Knapweed.
A sign of the Season: two Canada Geese, possibly on their way South, taking a break on the little pond at the foot of Grant Hill.
Swamp Maples near Route 20.
(But they're always early - aren't they?)

I can't publish this list without adding one more name.
"Red" Mack did not want to have his death marked with an obituary, but that doesn't mean that his passing, early last month, occurred without sadness shared by all those who knew him - a kind and gentle man.

Have a good day, everyone.
