YNN's morning Weather Forecast: "Icy start, Scattered Showers and Breezy. Warming Up Toward Midweek

Some freezing drizzle around this morning will taper with temperatures generally climbing into the low 40s. Through the afternoon there will be scattered rain showers pushing in from the southwest as a secondary warm front approaches.

This front will really help boost temperatures Wednesday with highs forecast to be in the upper 50s! The warmer weather doesn't last for long though. Rain showers develop out ahead of a cold front Wednesday afternoon/evening and the passage of this cold front will help usher in a much colder air mass for the second half of the week.

Highs on Thursday and Friday will only be in the 20s and 30s with lake effect snow setting up."

What a Difference a Day Makes!

Sunny Sunday

Monday, at about the same time.

When I left The Hollow for my afternoon ride, yesterday, the roads throughout the village were clear - just wet.  Route 315 was fine, but when I headed north on Route 12B it was a different story: lots of messy mush and, suddenly, freezing rain.

My dashboard thermometer read "22 degrees."

I passed two vehicles that had taken unexpected detours into roadside ditches and decided to give up and head for home.

Those were the only pictures that I took, but

fortunately....

IN THE MAIL ......

Thanks, again, to Jody Hildreth, who took a hike on Sunday afternoon to a spot on the south side of Tassell Hill that he has named "Frostbite Falls."

Cold!

Tiny icicles.........

.....  larger icicles!

And this shot of Jody with his friend Alex puts the whole scene into perspective: that is a lot of ice!

Thanks, Jody!
