It's Garbage Day again.
38 degrees and overcast at 5:00 a.m.

From YNN:  Cooler and Breezy Today, Nice Finish to the Week

"Today will be noticeably cooler, but quiet with a blend of sun and clouds.  Highs only will be in the 50s.  The  threat for a couple of spotty showers returns late tonight into tomorrow morning courtesy of a weak upper-level disturbance.

High pressure regains control on Friday, although temperatures remain cooler than average with highs in the 50s.

Luckily, the weekend is shaping up to be quite nice with warmer temperatures and mainly dry weather.  Highs will be in the 60s for both Saturday and Sunday."

There are Daffodils everywhere!

How many of you remember memorizing...
"I wandered lonely as a cloud........"
(Click HERE for more of Wadsworth's famous poem.)

And, along with daffodils, come the first Dandelions - always against the southern wall of Municipal Hall ........

and the ever-persistent "Goutweed," or Bishop's Weed which, although apparently edible ... I just want out of my flowerbeds!
(Recipes HERE.)

(I did battle with one patch of it for so long, yesterday, and with such determination, that I've sort-of crippled my "mouse finger" and am not typing or "clicking" very rapidly this morning!)

FOR THE RECORD

Full Moon Tonight

Sometimes called the "Full Pink Moon" NOT because it will appear pink, itself, but because it's the time when - somewhere - Ground Phlox blooms.

I forgot .....

to add this to yesterday's Food Pantry statistics:

Checks made out to the Waterville Food Pantry can be mailed to treasurer Susan Edkins, 390 Tower St. or Vicki Sabol, 235 Osborne Ave.
