It's Recycling Day
27 degrees and dry at 5:30 a.m.

Here's the morning Weather Forecast from YNN:

"Quiet & Not as Cold, Milder this Weekend
Today will be breezy and not as cold with a blend of sun and clouds.  Highs will be in the 40s. By Friday temperatures will be back up to more seasonable levels with highs closer to 50 degrees.
Plenty of sunshine is expected on Saturday with highs in the lower 50s.
Temperatures will continue to warm out ahead of a cold front with highs near 60 on Monday.  Much colder air will build in behind this front with temperatures back down into the 30s by Wednesday."

Here & There, yesterday

It was a cold day, starting out on the low side of 20 degrees!  Snow clung to Sumacs along Bogan Road South ....

........ and even in mid-afternoon it was still chilly.  The sun was low, ...

...........  shining warmly on cornfields in Hanover, but putting dark shadows in other spots.

Cattle in the Gallaghers' pasture in Sangerfield did not appear to have any complaints abut the weather .....

........ and the masons working at St. Bernard's Catholic church had rigged a heated shelter to keep both themselves and fresh concrete warm.

On West Main Street, Christmas lights were on at Merri-Rose Florist ....

... and garlands and bows decorate the front porch at Miss McNamara's home on Sanger Avenue.

It didn't take long for the mini-mart in Sangerfield to react to the closing of Food King, and many area shoppers had already discovered the new displays of fresh cuts of meat and the larger selections of fresh fruit, vegetables and bakery goods available there.
