It's Garbage Day
25 degrees with just a dusting of new snow.

Here is YNN's early morning Weather Forecast:

"Spotty Wintry Mix and Showers, Turning Much Colder
Mixed precipitation will transition over to spotty light rain showers, before coming to an end this afternoon.
The remainder of this upcoming week will feature well below average temperatures, and periods of significant lake effect snow. High temperatures Tuesday through Saturday will only be in the 20s."

Yesterday afternoon

Two hundred trees arrived at the Park on Saturday morning and by yesterday afternoon business was brisk at the annual Sanger Lodge Christmas Tree Sale.

Garlands and wreaths of evergreen make up the most traditional Yuletide decorations ...

....... hung around and on doorways, like those at Dan Maine's Woodshop (top) and this home on Madison Street ......

............... or spiraling around railings, as these at the Petrie residence on White Street.

As if it were an Advent wreath, this circle of greenery hangs in the doorway of the former Methodist church, built in 1860,  on White Street.

hangs on Suzette Baumgarten's Madison Street door.

Covered with fruit, this style was developed by 14th century Florentine sculptor Lucca Della Robbia who popularized the use of natural themes. Over the years, the Della Robbia style has been seen in many different forms and is now closely associated with Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.

Every week the blog is viewed by a surprising number of people from countries all over the world.

Most of them are undoubtedly familiar with Christmas trees and Christmas wreaths, but they may not have seen the contemporary decorations that are called "inflatables" and which are becoming  popular. Basically balloons of tough material, they are kept inflated by small electrically-powered fans.

These are at homes on East Bacon Street, Route 315 and Berrill Avenue.
