Today is Recycling Day

Brrrrrrrrr!

It's minus 10 degrees

and I feel sorry for whoever is riding the back of "Big Orange!"

The YNN Forecast: "High pressure builds in from the west on Thursday allowing for any lingering lake effect to taper off. Unfortunately, we’ll still be left with the bitterly cold air mass. Highs are forecast to be in the upper single digits and lower teens with sub-zero wind chills. Our attention turns to a new system on Friday which will provide more widespread snow showers later Friday into Friday night.  Although temperatures won’t be as cold they’ll still be below average with highs near 20 degrees.  A few scattered snow showers will remain possible on Saturday with highs in the teens.  Dry weather should prevail on Sunday with temperatures climbing into the 20s.
Milder temperatures build in next week with highs in the 30s on Monday.  Temperatures will likely crack into the 40s Tuesday and Wednesday before colder air settles in for the second half of the week."

This view of Shanley Road near Paris Green: "Crisp and Crystal Clear," from Jeff Reynolds.

I went out riding around, yesterday morning, wondering how to best photograph "COLD."

The ice curtains at the caves are closed, again .......

..............  and the air was so cold that steam rose from the water coming over the little falls next to Gridley-Paige Road!

Ice appeared to be forming in an eddy in the Oriskany Creek at the Dugway south of Clinton .........

.............. and the only creatures that I saw who seemed to be enjoying themselves outdoors were the Herefords grazing in the Cleary pasture next to Route 315.

FOR THE RECORD

The moon was huge and bright, but it won't be really "full" until Saturday night. The Farmers' Almanac calls it the "Full Wolf Moon."
If wolves don't howl, perhaps the coyotes will!
